error in installing DBD:mysql

Hi,

I am having a problem with DBD::mysql installation. I am a novice in Mysql.

I have Fedora Core 3 running on Pentium 4
I have installed mysql-3.23.58-13. Installation of DBI was successful.
But I ran into issues. I scanned the Internet and saw loads of suggested
actions. But none seem to work. Please help.
