Web site import
am 05.03.2006 01:11:26 von Nancy
I have a multi-page web site that I constructed using Verizonâs Site Builder
(Trellix based). Recently Verizon stopped supporting Site Builder and I am
trying to import the site into FrontPage 2003 to allow for more flexibility
with formatting. When I use the Import command all I get is the first page.
When I open the home page I am able to CTRL+Click on the navigation bar in
the site to bring up the other pages, which FP then downloads from Site
Builder. I am running into problems when I save the pages, some of the
background formatting gets lost. I have tried publishing the site to my hd
without success. Is it possible to import all of the pages in the site to
into their own file name? Thanks.
Nancy

The import function only imports what is seen by a browser, so shared
borders, include files, navigation structure, themes, asp pages, databases,
etc. are not imported.

I want to convert to Front Page since it appears to be mroe flexible. Thanks

I have Frontpage 2003 and have created a large website over the years. My
computer crashed on New Year's Eve and 10 days later a technician came and
took everything off my computer and re - installed it. He lost all my
Documents in the process. Frontpage 2003 was re-installed, but it had no
information on it for my webpages. I tried to gain access to my remote
website to bring it into Frontpage, but was stopped x 2. The first reason is
that it asked for a password. Well, I had had a password but it had been put
in memory by my web server and so I never knew what it was. My web server
has had a stroke and her friend has been helping. However, he was no help.
He said he had changed the password so that I could get in and told me what
it was, but when I put the password in, the box blanked out and wouldn't
accept it. In addition, a notice came up saying that Web Server may not have
Front Page extensions installed etc. The web server's friend stated that the
extensions were installed. My Front Page software was bought by me and I
have the product key. What can I do? I am not only using this website for
my business with a shopping cart, but I also am keeping a webpage for a Fair
Planning Committee I am on and it needs to be updated 10 days ago. What to
do What to do What to do?

You should start your own thread instead of hijacking someone else's.

How do you start a new thread? I keep clicking on New and question and
nothing happens. I'm new to this - didn't mean to hijack anything just
deperate! Please advise how to start a new thread.

If you use a real newsreader (I'm assuming you're using the web
interface), then you just click "File > New > Message" in whatever
email/newsreader client you use.
I use Thunderbird; (the email client made by the makers of Firefox).
Outlook Express suffices as a newsreader; there are of course others.
