IIS6 and Integrated Security problem

Hi,
i got a problem with a W2K3 web server (NOT SP1) in a W2K3 domain and
clients using Windows XP
When i go on the website (set in integrated authentication) it sometimes
prompts me for a user and password. I set the one i al loggued on with and it
just keep me asking and at a time it doesn't any more and shows the page. (i
can reproduce this any time on multiple servers)
If i post a form, It then prompts me for a user and password and even if i
put the correct user and password, it fails (or i have to put it mutliple
times (always same user and pass).
Sometimes i receive a message "Error : Access is denied" without any number
code (no 401.3 or 403 code)
From what i've read i've put the server in local intranet zone with the
setting "automatic logon with current user.." or 'automatic logon in intranet
zone" but nothing changed.
Application Pool is running under IWAM user

To add:
when it prompts several times for user login, i can see that images are not
shown while user has ntfs access to them.

Hi,
Can you post the corresponding logfile entries in question please?
Additionally, you should see logon failures in the Windows Security Event
log - can you post the corresponding events please?
Lastly can you verify the NTFS ACLs via cacls.exe (e.g. run cacls.exe for
the file you are being denied access to) and post the resulting list of NTFS
ACEs here please?
