I'm trying to use the latest ODBC driver 3.51.12 from within MS-Excel 2003.

Downloading, installing and configuring the ODBC driver works OK.

Using the Test en Diagnostics button indicate: "Success; connection was
made!

BUT . from within Excel I'm not able to correctly activate the ODBC driver.

I specify in the connection-tab "DSN=MySQL" (the name of my data source
name).

The next button leads me to connector/odbc dialog windows (here everything
is filled in: servername, username, password, databasename).

During ODBC configuration these parameters proved to be OK.

Now, after pressing the button, I get the following message.

By the way, the user value is different from the value specified in the
configuration (without the '@%' !!!!)

What am I doing wrong?
