previous question about the configuration wizard

I can't seem to find my earlier post about my problem, so I'll post this
here. I got the following error (with an 'x' in the 'Apply security
settings' part on the final step of the wizard). Hopefully someone knows
how to fix this:

The security settings could not be applied.
Error number 1045.
Access denied for user 'root'@'localhost' (using password: YES)
