Email address on a Form

Email address on a Form

am 15.05.2006 11:05:02 von JooSousa

Hi,

I have a form made in Frontpage 2003, with a few fields and when we click in
"Submit", I have put to save in a file and to send a email to me. But when I
am trying to test it, give me a error :

"FrontPage Run-Time Component Page
You have submitted a form or followed a link to a page that requires a web
server and the FrontPage Server Extensions to function properly.

This form or other FrontPage component will work correctly if you publish
this web to a web server that has the FrontPage Server Extensions installed.

Click the arrow to return to the previous page."

What I can do to solve it?
And another thing, can I save it to another file format ?

Cheers,

João Sousa

FP forms require publishing in http mode to a hosted site w/ the FP SE enabled
- and if sending an email from the form with a host that has Email transport enabled

I have this website host it in a Apache server, in my company.
I have installed Frontpage Services Extension installed, but I can't send a
email.

Did you publish to the server using FrontPage HTTP method? Or did you
use FTP, or copy using a network share?

To copy files to my linux server, I use WinSCP.

You MUST use the FrontPage HTTP Publish option.
Open your local web in FrontPage, then File->Publish
Type in the location as http://example.com (replace "example.com"
with your website URL)
and publish.
FP forms will NOT work unless they are published to the server - FTP,
or copying with any other application will break them.

Ok, Ronx,

But if I publish my website with FTP, the form is working ?

No. You must use http publish, not FTP.
And the forms to email transport must be properly configured on the host
server:
