Could not start service Mysql Error:0

I am also having this problem. I am running Win/XP with Service Pack 1 on a 1.7 machine with 512 of RAM and a 20 GB hard drive. I took all of the defaults (basically, I just pressed the enter key)

I see that someone else posted this same error message. Any thoughts?

You should elaborate about the error. Check the event viewer.

my thoughts... Only one service named mysql can be run at a time.

Hi join

You can remove your service and reinstall with another name using

#to remove service
Mysqld --remove

#to install service
mysqld --install --defaults-file=" file>"
