A Trojan horse is attempting to lure football fans with the promise of
a wallchart for the World Cup tournament due to kick off on 9 June in
Germany.

Haxdoor- IN Trojan horse is attempting to infiltrate Inboxes via a link
in an email message, which promises a free tournament wallchart for
football fans, security company Sophos revealed.

Installing the malicious program could let hackers gain access to your
computer, according to Sophos.

"The World Cup is one of the biggest sporting events of the year -
malware authors are playing on this keen interest and football spirit
to try and infect as many people as possible, in an attempt to seize
control, steal from, and spy on innocent users' computers," said Graham
Cluley, senior technology consultant for Sophos.

At the moment, the emails have only been distributed in German, but
hackers can switch to other languages to increase "their pool of
potential victims", according Sophos.

Web users are advised to protect their computers against virus, spyware
and spam threats and secure their desktops with automatically updated
anti-virus protection.
