phpMyAdmin will not connect with PW and User

Hi All,

Have a problem, I think MySQL has not built the use DB correctly. (built new
system, so had to reinstall). phpMyadmin will connect if no password and
user is named in config file, but MySQL refuses connection if these are
supplied.

Have checked my.ini and the info is correct. Renamed old my.ini file and
tried again, same result, but when I go to the admin in the task bar, this
shows MySQL DB has no tables, so the user is not being added, any ideas?

Try using the console client to check if your MySQL installation is
correct. If it is, your problem is with PhpMyAdmin, and you should
check for help within its docs.

Or maybe the user has no privileges, and thus can't see the tables.
Anyway, try using the GRANT command and see if it works.

you have to give a pwd in phpmyadmin config file and also phpmyadmin while
creating a mysql db
