Hey yall,

I just downloaded and installed ODBC Connector 5.0.1 alpha for Win32 (XP
SP2).

The installation (install 0) seems to have gone ok:

Success: Usage count is 1

> "| |"
> "| Hopefully things went well; the Connector/ODBC |"

but when I go to create a DSN using the new version I get:

The setup routines for the MySQL Connector/ODBC v5 Driver ODBC driver could

Any ideas?

Jake,

Did you see the bit in the instructions about needing to have
Connector/ODBC 3.51.12 installed first to get the setup libraries/routines?

Yes. I have 3.51.06 installed and I guess I assumed that that was
sufficient. I'll do .12 and retry...

Ok, my bad. Installation of 3.51.12 MSI fixed it.

The need for the older setup lib is just a temp solution. C/ODBC v5 will
have its own setup lib in the future.
