MySQL Connector/ODBC 3.51 vs. 5

MySQL Connector/ODBC 3.51 vs. 5

Hi,

Could some please tell me if version 5.0.4 could be a replacement for
the 3.51.12, or are they doing different things?

Are there any risks involved in trying to install version 5, for
instance not being able to go back to 3.51 in case it does not work?
Would like to give it a shot in case it is an alternative to 3.51.

The reason why I would like to try ver 5, is that 3,51 reports the
"ODBC-call failed #2013" numerous times every day, and I really would
like to get this solved somehow. Apparantly this is not possible to
solve in 3.51.

Kind Regards

C/ODBC v5 will replace MyODBC v3 over time. At this point C/ODBC v5 is
very much an Alpha release (read; we are still focused upon adding
features).

You can install C/ODBC v5 and MyODBC v3 on the same machine without
conflict.
