error handling if certificate based auth has failed

Hi,
is there a way to display an error page in case certificate based=20
authentication has failed? I have read the mod_ssl reference page and=20
searched the mailing list archive, but have not found any hints.
It would be great to see an error page instead of an empty window or a=20
cryptic browser error when a non-authorized user has tried to access a=20
location with "SSLVerifyClient require".
