Can I delete/end my hotmail or yahoo accounts?
Can I delete/end my hotmail or yahoo accounts?
am 26.09.2006 12:36:31 von thingy
I would like to close down my email accounts, 2 hotmail and 2 yahoo,
being soon to turn my life over to a monastery for a few years. I use
these accounts in libraries. I've looked for contact email for yahoo
and hotmail but of course that wouldn't be practical for them at a
guess. Is there a way I can shut these accounts down? I don't use
Outlook, just the mail section at the hotmail and yahoo websites. (Is
it possible to bulk delete forum posts at all, also?)
I imagine that if I left them alone they would be shut down, but I
wouldn't be able to do this, out of pointless curiosity, and would
rather just blow the email accounts violently out of the water....
Thanks for any response.

With Hotmail, accounts are deleted after 90 days of inactivity. You
can also close an account by using the "Close your account" page. I
cannot see a link on the menus for that, but if you put "Close
Account" into the Hotmail help it will find it.
For Yahoo, see:

Hmmm, are you sure the monastery knows about these violent tendencies?

The fact that the OP also wanted "to bulk delete forum posts" indicates
other things that need hiding, such as the numerous posts to the pedophelia
forums?

Says someone who is using a throwaway alias, no email address,
and posts through a crummy server that caters to trolls by hiding
its user's posting IPs and ignoring all complaints to abuse.
You and "Landmark" and the OP share this in common: Anyone who
trusts you at all is dumb as a brick.
If what you've said with one pseudo-identity causes you any
problems, you'll just drop it and scuttle off and hide behind
another one, pretending that you never said it.

You win, Beavis.

That would correctly describe most Usenet posters, Beavis. Can you be more
specific.

So is a head of lettuce, Beavis. What's your point?

No! Don't go away, Beavis. We need you.
