I am using unlink commad to delete a file .

Some times it deletes and sometimes it is not...

I tried with system call(rm command)...

This also works sometimes and sometimes it is not...

list. It is possible that the permissions on the file or on the directory
it's in are such that you are not allowed to delete the file. If you need
