MYSQL ODBC Connector 3.51 Problems

Can anyone help, I'm having trouble with MYSQLODBC Connector 3.51. I'm
using Windows XP Home Edition SP2 and Dreamweaver 8.

Problem

(1) Filled in all the fields , click Test. Connection is sucessful. Then
Crashes no error msg , just stops responding.

(2) Filled in all the fields , Don't click Test. Try to select Database
using dropdown menu. Crashes no error msg , just stops responding.

(3) Filled in all the fields, Don't click Test, Dont try to select
Database, Click Ok, Creates System DNS. However when try to connect
using DNS , doesn't goto database needed because we didn't select one
from dropdown box.

P.S: Please don't ask me to upgrade to version 5 , that's even worse
because it doesn't create a System DNS , just a User DNS which I cannot
connect to using DW8.

Hello!

I'm having the same kind of problem. First I thought it was a software
firewall misconfiguration but it wasn't.
When I use Windows XP Professional it works fine. Does this error have
something to do with Windows version?

Trying to google it out...
