Can't find string terminator "'" anywhere before EOF at -e line 1.
What gives? Later....

Windows doesn't like using single quotes:
perl -le"print q[alt.perl] - q[comp.lang.perl.misc]"

*Got* to remember that! I've got to get my act together, and get my FreeBSD
box back into the game. I'm also bound and determined to get an Xubuntu box
up and running. ;)
I guess I asked about this newsgroup because there doesn't seem to be much
traffic. I thought that maybe this group's focus might have been different.

Supposedly people are friendlier (but less knowledgeable) here.

I'll take friendlier (and less arragant) any day! ;) As far as the knowledge
thing is concerned, that remains to be seen. But where's the traffic?

comp.lang.perl.* are the "official" Perl news groups. Anything in alt.* is
usually "unofficial".

If traffic is defined as at least one post per day, this Group is absent
traffic. It's not unusual for no postings for several days.

You'll only get a decent answer in alt.perl if it is answered by one of the
comp.lang.perl.misc regulars.
Luckily there are a handful here.
comp.lang.perl.misc is much, much busier than alt.perl, so you'll always
find plenty to read.
