Certificate Installed Now I can"t log into the Site
Certificate Installed Now I can"t log into the Site
am 18.12.2006 22:23:51 von Jon Slater
Hello,
I know this must have been posted before and if so please direct me to it
and the solution but here goes:
I installed an SSL cert on my system - WIN2K3 Standard with IIS installed.
I try to open the web site and I get a page back stating that I do not have
the permission to see that page? What do I need to do? Allow Basic
Authentication or??
The cert was installed on the Default Web Site and is to protect a
Virtual folder underneath it. The clients will be accessing the site by
going to the Virtual Folder to get a logon request.
Any help would be marvelous and thank you very much since I'm not really
an IIS guy - I'm just the lucky one to get saddled with it.

Hi,
If this is an IIS 6.0 server, then there should be a substatus code in the
HTTP logfiles. The HTTP status will be 403, and then there will be a
substatus file after that. That will give you some indication why you are
getting access denied. There is a table here of possible values:
http://support.microsoft.com/?kbid=318380
Glad you got it fixed.
Cheers
