Summary: ODBC Failure

Initial Comment:
I can get several products (Access, OpenOffice Base) to read the list of tables in my database, but they both fail on actually reading data.

Access gives a left outer join garbage message.
OpenOffice Base gives another error, and I think it wants an oid.

ArcGIS fails miserably.

I am using the current update, and have tested all the changes in (forgive me for forgetting) the japanese developer's site. They make no difference.

Any tests I can try to give more info?

Thanks,
Angus.

Here you go. Thanks, and now I see your name here too :-)
Quick review of steps from the beginning (for my sake):
1.Uninstall (and check in registry)... Clean.
2. Install psqlodbc-08_02_0200, MSI format. MSI Date is
24/10/2006 4:04 PM. Take all defaults
3. Create an ODBC link, using defaults, but turning on mylog.
* named PostgreSQL30 using ANSI Driver
* named PostgreSQL30W using Unicode driver
4. Install psqlodbc35w.dll and pgxalib.dll from Hiroshi
Inoue's site to C:\Program Files\psqlODBC\0802\bin. Dates
are 02/03/07 1:26PM and 27/02/2007 9:35AM, respectively.
5. Install psqlodbc35a.dll and pgxalib.dll from Hiroshi
Inoue's site to C:\Program Files\psqlODBC\0802\bin. Dates
are 02/03/07 1:26PM and 27/02/2007 9:36AM, respectively.
6. Launch Access (2002, SR-1). From an empty DB,
right-click, link tables, choose ODBC and then select
PostgreSQL30 DSN.
7. Choose table ops.stations. And today it worked, just to
prove me wrong.
8. When I choose the view public.ltg1h, it works, too.
9. Same in ArcGIS.

I guess I will have to withdraw the bug and acknowledge the
problem as being "A Windows Problem", since I would never
say it was me and my configuration.... :-)

Thanks for the timely response.
Angus Carr.

Could you attach the Mylog output for Access and/or
OpenOffice case ?
