Cannot add a new file association in IIS 5.1 on XP service pack 2

Cannot add a new file association in IIS 5.1 on XP service pack 2

am 13.03.2007 04:32:02 von Ricky

I would like to let IIS passes ".jpg", ".gif" request to ASP .NET to do
something.

The problem is that the Ok button in the "add/edit application extension
mapping" dialog is disabled so I cannot add a file association to IIS.

How do I configure it ?

Thanks a lot.

That might be one of the things you cannot modify with that web server (the
Pro version on XP).

Can you modify other file types or create your own? Maybe you could do
..jpeg instead....

Yes , I can modify the existing file type associations but cannot create a
..jpeg association.

Well, for what it's worth same thing on my workstations.

So I assume a limitation of IIS on XP. You'll need to develop your app on a
server version of Windows then....

This is not a limitation of IIS 5.1. IIS 5.1 is meant primarily for
application development, and script mappings are essential to this task.

Can you describe exactly which dialog that you are trying to use, how you
got to it in MMC, and whether you are trying to add this mapping on an
application or a vdir?

Thank you,
