SSL PostgreSQL and PHP

Dear all ,
Would be greatefull for your kind attention and precious knowledge on
the following topic
For PostgreSQL build with SSL enabled used with PHP
1. All the data comnunication between PHP and PostgreSQL is encrypted.
OR
2. Only the password of the database is encrypted while transmission
This may be a stupid question but please if you know the answer or
refrences kindly shoot back

Incidentally, you may want to trim this sig file. It's, er, just a tad
excessive at 20 lines. Well over the usual 5 line maximum.
RFC 1855 Section 2.1.1:
- If you include a signature keep it short. Rule of thumb
is no longer than 4 lines. Remember that many people pay for
connectivity by the minute, and the longer your message is,
the more they pay.
