Yes there is a very long list of problems with each incarnation of
MyODBC. This is one of the reasons why I long ago abandoned MyODBC and
ported most of our MS Access databases to my own home-grown solution,
based on gtk2-perl:

Perhaps it would have been simpler to move to Postgres ... or give up on
open-source database technology and just use the SQL Server system we
have a license for, but I'm stubborn ...
