Help with deleting AOL bounces via procmail
am 10.07.2007 16:47:37 von Jedd HaasI have a lot of mail that I forward (for someone else) that turns out to
be spam; the forwarding address is at AOL, which bounces it back to me.
I have a filter in my mail client, so it's somewhat under control.
However, I would like to start just deleting it all at the server to
improve the situation. (I realize the solution may delete legitimate
bounces - a price I'm willing to pay.)
I already had a procmail command (in the .procmailrc file) to delete
regular SPAM messages, so I tried modifying it to make it work for my
purpose. Here are the commands:
## delete on server
:0:
* ^X-Spam-Status: Yes
/dev/null
(this is working great for that purpose)
And my modified command to delete bounces:
## delete X-ASK mailer-daemon bounces:
:0:
* ^X-ASK-Info: Message from Mailer-Daemon
/dev/null
The "X-ASK-Info" line is from the headers of a bounced message. But this
isn't working.
Can anyone suggest the correct syntax? My hosting company, which will go
un-named to protect the guilty, hasn't been able to help.
