Procmail "Skipped"?
am 11.07.2007 04:29:42 von Andrew
Hi,
I have setup a procmail filter to move messages delivered to the
mutt-users list to a mail box (~/Mail) mutt:
:O:
* ^TOmutt-user
mutt
The mail is delivered but there is an odd message in my procmail log:
procmail: Skipped "O:"

Folder: mutt
I suspect I have the syntax a little skewed?

Confirmed by a read of the manual:
Skipped: "x" Couldn't do anything with "x" in
the rcfile.(syntax error), ignoring it.

Oh no!!! I have revealed myself as an idiot. Should be the number
zero, not uppercase letter O.
My blushes,

I was about to say ... :-)
Back at the dawn of time, displays showed zeros as capital O with a
slash through them. I often wonder why that died out.

Also, on some renditions of procmail, if I recall correctly, it is
safer to use ^TO_ rather than TO. It may not make a difference on
all the versions, but at least it should not hurt. Besides ^TO_ is
slightly better "visible" as a separate token.
All the best, Timo
