Audit - IIS locations and sites

Audit - IIS locations and sites

Any tools that will audit an org for websites and IIS installations to find
what is running where? and what accounts are being used by IIS?

Just started with an org that has no docs on their web
installations/locations/sites- internally.

Hi,

You can find out from the registry if IIS is installed or not. This
article gives all necessary information:

http://blogs.iis.net/chrisad/archive/2006/09/01/Detecting-if -IIS-is-installed_2E002E002E00_.aspx

You will however find a way to iterate all computers on the network and
scan the registry. Shouldn't be difficult using a script or application.

Thanks Kristofer- very useful article. Let me clarify, looking to discover
and map the IIS topology for this company and was wondering if there were any
tools written to perform said discovery. I could check each one w/ a script
or manually, but what i would like to generate is a topo' layout of what is
where and running which sites.

So far it is looking like a manual audit and visio to accomplish the task.
Thanks again Kristofer, the info will help with the process!
