Can"t pinpoint this problem : connexion
am 11.07.2007 20:42:41 von Junkyard Engineer
IIS 7, FPSE (beta version for vista)
I'm able to publish the site on my server with FP03 without problem.
I'm able to connect to it using the domain name (which redirect to myIP:81)
But when I'm outside the office, and I try to connect to
www.my_domain_name_here.net, i get the error page telling me that the site
is not available and cannot display the webpage.
Authentification is set to basic (IIS admin). So I switched it to windows
and both and none with same kind of results (IIS restart in each change).
The firewall in Vista is deactivated and I'm behind a router which has it's
firewall up but I added port 81 on local IP machine accessible.
This is kind of weird for me : locally I can access it but not from outside.
Any ideas where to look ? I'm sure it's related to authentification but what
am I missing !?

Try adding port forwarding on your router so 81 redirects to your machine.

Did this help?
If not, does your ISP block the port you are using?
Do you get a connection to the webserver when using telnet:
In a command prompt, type:
telnet www.my_domain_name_here.net 81
Do you get a blank screen or does it "hang" trying to connect? If the
latter, then you cannot establish a connection to the webserver and
something must not be right with networking.
