you all where right looking at the registry. but you all did forget the reading-
glass.

- move to HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\ODBC\ODBCINST.INI
- export the ODBC Drivers key to a .reg file
- delete the ODBC Drivers key
- delete the line containing @="" and save.
- reimport the .reg file

the odbc driver manager should now list the driver.
this could be done by the msi, too.
