IIS & Quadri Processor

Hi,

I have to set up a new IIS web server and I would like to know if that makes
sense to buy a Quadri Processor (XEON) for this configuration.
This server will only host IIS and another one will be configured for Sql
Server.

I assume you are talking about a Quad Core processor?

Whether you need to buy a more powerful processor really depends on what
sort of workload your server is performing. For most websites, a Quad Core
CPU is more than enough. Also look at how much RAM you are getting, network
bandwidth and disk.

But there are people who run very large websites, who have entire farms of
servers. In that case, you'd need many quad-core boxes to serve that site.

And in between there are lots of sites as well.

there is no single answer to your question.
