differential backup

on win sm biz server 2003, i started a differential backup
there are no options that i saw for configuring the backup other than
picking differential
the first time it ran, it backed up all the target files, about 10k / 9 gb
i was expecting the log for the next backup to show something like 20 or 30
files backed up
the ones that had changed since the full backup, however, all 10k / 9gb was
on the report again
and its that same thing everyday?
how is the differential to be configured to get it to work as expected for a
differential?
should not the daily report (in my case) be giving a total of the files that
had been backed up since the last full backup?

This is not an IIS question - I suggest you ask this in the SBS groups.

Hi,
The SBS newsgroup is located here:
microsoft.public.windows.server.sbs
This is a newsgroup for IIS, a webserver, and you are having questions
about backups.
