Perfmon counter question
am 09.08.2007 22:34:03 von JonL
Greetings,
I've read the books and looked online but I haven't been able to learn the
differrence between Anonymous Users/sec and Current Anonymous Users. On our
IIS 6 servers we see on average 40 Anon. Users/sec and 4 Current Anonymous
Users. Can someone help me understand the difference? Does Anon Users/sec
include all the subcomponents (images, css, etc) that make up a web page?
I suppose that one of the things I am looking for is the number of
individual users/people using our servers per second.
Thanks,
Jon

Hi,
This fragment is copied from here:
http://www.gafvert.info/iis/article/current_connections_user s.htm
"The use of the word "Users" is a bit misleading (but this statement
depends on how you define a user, which varies widely in this category).
The "Current Anonymous Users" counter is a measurement of the active
anonymous requests currently being processed. Once the request has been
processed (which usually happens quite fast), "Current Anonymous Users"
decrease. "
The request is usually processed within 1 second (of course depending on
the complexity), which means that it is not strange to see more Anonymous
Users/sec than there is Current Anonymous Users.
