What's your php (and programming in general) experience? A search
engine for a website is not a minor undertaking.

Any recommendations for a "ready made" that can be adapted
easily?

Google has a pre-packaged server that will function as a search engine for
your site.

Then go look at it. It has a fine site search engine. You just add a
few lines of html to your site and you have it.

I see what you mean now. I even used it on one site, some time
ago (still there!). I don't know why I did not connect the two?
It was Sunday yesterday and Sunday is after Sat night.

On another site I use AtomZ. Which also has a great indexing
function which picks up errors in links etc, useful.
