Web Site Access
am 19.09.2007 13:26:31 von Brett_A
I have a local network of 3 XP Pro machines. I would like to set up
one machine as a "web server" for testing purposes only. I have IIS
installed and a site configured. How do I access that site from the
browser from one of the other two machines?
Thanks.

Default you can just go to: http://computername or http://ipaddress

That is what I thought too, but it doesn't work. I can ping the
computer/IP without issue.
I can view the site in the browser on the "server' without issue as
well.
Is there something with permissions I need to look at? I've tried
setting web sharing on the storage folder of the sites without any
luck?
Thoughts?
Thanks for the help.

Is the windows firewall enabled for the NIC ?
If it is, create an exception for port 80.
