moving to a new pc problems

Hi,
Not sure if this is the correct group but here goes,
I'm in the process of moving over to a new pc and when I try and set my IIS
and view a C# asmx file on it I am getting an error, 'Failed to access IIS
metabase'.
I know the file is ok as it is working on my old pc without any problems.
Also when I try and view it through IE on my old PC then I am also getting
an error,
'A name was started with an invalid character .'

Any one got any ideas, on what I'm forgetting to do?
