trying to instal SSL on the IIS - VirtualServer

trying to instal SSL on the IIS - VirtualServer

am 01.10.2007 11:21:41 von Zoran

Hi all

I tried to install SSL (using a certificate that I issued self on an
cert-server I installed) on the Virtual Server Administration Website, so I
could publish it on a public IP and access it from the outside.

I imported the certificate, and tried to acces the Virtual Machine Remote
Control Client using the dns name I registeret for public use, and it
worked.

But only that one time. When I tried again, it didin't work, I get: "The
webpage cannot be found". (no matter using http or https)
( the link I use is
http://server.stage.corpnet:1024/VirtualServer/VSWebApp.exe? view=1)

Then I removed the SSL and the certificate, hoping that it would work. It
did, but only that one time. Now I get the same error.

But if I use the Browse option from IIS management console, of an IE on
another computer, I can access the site, so I suppose that it is a local IE
problem (any hints? it seems like I don't get any logon-box)

But I would like to ask - how do I enable the SSL, both for Virtual Machine
Remote Control Client and for Virtual Machine Remote Control Client, so I
can use them from outside? I would like to use the "false-certificate" that
I make for myself.

Thanx in advance!

Regards, Zoran

This should work fine (I have done it myself). Have you tried running
IE 'as administrator'?

Hi Benjamin,

I am logged on as administrator (even domain admin), so I don't think that
would be the problem.
Anyhow, it worked before, when I accessed it exactly the same way...
