Chart Bug In A2007?

Chart Bug In A2007?

am 11.10.2007 09:38:26 von wayne

I have an Access 2003 database that has several reports with charts on
them that all work fine under A2003. All but one works fine under
Access 2007. On this particular chart the chart columns extend out to
the right of the chart container all the way to the edge of the report
page.

I know that Access 2007 has lots of bugs. Has anyone seen anything
like this?

Correction. A couple of the other charts are exhibiting the same
behaviour. And I neglected to mention that A2007 is running under
Vista.

After some experimentation, this issue seems to be related to Vista
and not particularly to Access 2007. I've just done a clean install
of Vista and then installed Access 2003 with SP3. This is the only
version of Access on the machine. I am seeing the same problem.
Charts on reports are extending out of the chart container and off the
right hand edge of the report page.

Is anyone else seeing this?

Have you tried a different default printer driver?

Thanks for the reply Rick. Tried it and no change. The problem is
only appearing on most, but not all, charts that take up the full
width (minus borders) of an A4 landscape report. If I click on the
chart in the report's design view, then double click it so that I can
resize the chart object itself, it fixes the problem.

What I don't understand is why are only some charts being affected and
why is the problem only occurring if I run the database under Vista.
Also, it's not just one database. A couple of other dbs that I have
opened that have charts on landscape A4 reports are exhibiting the
same behaviour.

I had a problem in the other direction. The chart was being truncated on the
right side. I switched from Zoom to Clip and manually sized the chart object
instead of relying on Zoom to auto-size it. That solved my problem.

Rick, was this happening only under Vista?

No, but it was only on some machines and not on others.

I probably should have noticed it earlier, but after you said you had
switched from zoom to clip, I checked the offending charts and the
Size Mode was set to "Stretch". I changed them all to "Clip" and all
was good. No other changes were necessary.

It's curious that this was only happening in Vista, but I guess I'll
probably never know the reason for that. Thanks for the help.
