FileMaker vs Leopard"s "Spaces"
am 17.10.2007 01:02:05 von dempsonI've noticed that Spaces in Leopard will be using the Ctrl-UpArrow and
Ctrl-DownArrow key combinations to switch to Spaces above or below the
current one. This will conflict with FileMaker Pro's use of those keys
to move up and down one record.
Anyone else given thought about how to deal with this? As I frequently
use Ctrl-UpArrow and Ctrl-DownArrow in FileMaker, I'm inclined to remap
the Spaces key combinations to something harder to type, such as
Ctrl-Option-
Another "recent Apple product vs FileMaker" issue I've noticed is that
the new Bluetooth keyboard has omitted the Enter key, requiring the use
of Fn-Return to do an Enter. This could complicate data entry in
FileMaker Pro.
I wonder how easy it is to define and use a custom keyboard mapping
which reassigns the right Option key back to being the Enter key.
Either of these might be worthy of a bug report to Apple. They do own
FileMaker Inc., after all, so you think they'd avoid conflicts with
their own software.
