Indian Crackers have found a way into this site. It will be defaced this weekend. The web hosting company will be the subject of an ongoing DOS attack.

Thanks for quoting this, I use a Google groups filter to filter out
all posts that contain the text "The Usenet Improvement Project -
http://improve-usenet.org" and would have never seen this post....

Well, his newsreader might include upscoring for your posts because he
loves your work and admires your opinion so much.

Except that he's using Google Groups, which:

1. contradicts that possibility, since GG doesn't actually do filtering[1];

2. shows his post was more political statement than technical
revelation; and

3. indicates why he feels as he does about the UIP.
