server extensions information

so i have been screwing around with windows sharepoint services.. had my
fun.. went to remove it (add remove programs) and that went just fine...
managed to even remove the SQL EE with out much of a problem.

the problem is, if i go to the default website and go to the server
extensions tab it says "microsoft sharepoint is installed on this web site."

where is this information stored? how can i tell it that its full of crap?

i've tried to uninstall IIS and i didnt get far with that, all these
settings are still around...

i was going to dig in to the metabase.xml but when i uninstalled IIS it had
removed the metabase.xml so i assume there is nothing funny hanging around
there..
