Wouldn't be the first time, would it? ;-)
Anyway, whether that's true or not, it's been a month now since the
stats were last compiled. I suspect something is wrong in Toby-land. Or
maybe he's on a two-month safari in deepest Africa.
Has anyone here had contact with him since 11 October?
(Cross-posted to a.w.w, where the stats are similarly depressing).

Travis likes to say brucie is dead, but doesn't seem to reply to
questions about it:
http://groups.google.com/group/alt.html/browse_thread/thread /91c81e3dab8504b2/4720af2f87a36e4a
Personally, last time I had contact with brucie (November 2005), he
mentioned that he had to limit usenet for his own good, so I can only
hope that that's what he did.

I'm pretty sure I read a post a while back that said he was on vacation,
but there were no other details and I can't recall when it was posted or
who posted it. (Senility you know...)

That was probably it. Anyway, I hope Toby is okay. Sometimes the geek
types get these unusual urges and do odd things like join the foreign
legion or move to Bangladesh. It's just the brain rebelling, but in the
meantime the poor corpus hominus has to tag along. I used to have
nightmares that I woke up in Australia and had no idea how I got there.

I emailed NCT yesterday:
Hello. I am writing to enquire about your Webmaster, Toby Inkster.
Mr. Inkster has been a frequent and long-time contributer to several
online groups, and many of us have noticed his absense of several months
from those groups. Concern is growing.
I understand that no one can give out specific information concerning this
individual. However, I hope that you can at least give some indication
that he is alive and well.
My sincerest thanks for your time -
And received this a while ago:
Toby is well and kicking and I have forwarded your email to him.
Many thanks
Kind regards
Steve

Sounds more like he joined a soccer team. Anyway, it's nice to hear that
someone thinks ol' Toby is okay so I shall cease worrying about him and
concentrate instead on my PhD thesis, "The Importance of Porn to
Prehistoric Peoples Unlikely to Procreate During The Stone Age". (It's
actually a thriller.)

Officer Bud White keeps dumping gagged, bound and fairly comatose
bodies from all over the world in my factory. I asked him who the
hell he thinks he is, the CIA? He thinks I want my enemies
rounded up but all i ever want is that he should talk to them
quietly and now and then not so quietly in their home countries.
It is a big strain dealing with his deliveries. These bodies
eventually come around to full consciousness and get over their
nightmare shock by polishing off all my carefully made home
brewed beer (made from the grain, not some easy kit).

When I run foreigners over, I drive very straight... so you must
be the guy that was lying perfectly *across* the road.
(btw Boji, Officer White is charging me double since you tried to
hide by changing your name, he called it an "alias fee". He is
one sob mercenary when it comes to his charges.)

Warn't trying to hide it. Told A. Dingey straight-out. Fer some reason it
upset him. Besides, every man is entitled to the 4 basic human rights
which are life, liberty, the pursuit of happiness, and appellation
modification.
Just so's you know, us Urs are a proud lot and we don't cotton to getting
run over by any Aussie junkers whatever the reason. Next time I'll have to
get my club out of storage and go do a little ol' fashion stone-age fixin'.

That is not what Officer White reckoned. It threw him off, he
thought there was an imposter at large and this complicated the
job in tracking you down to whatever bunker you were hiding in.
He even tried the bunker Saddam was caught in. You were not there.

I don't hide in bunkers. I may hide in my bunk, but that's only on those
nights I hear weird noises.
Didja ever notice how close 'Bud White' is to 'Bud Lite'? Are you sure

There was one or a number of people appearing here as Toby
Inkster in the past. At each contact bar the very first, a third
party might well wonder these questions. (Not the first contact
because that would make no sense).
