Install issues

I am trying to install IIS on a 64bit Win2K3 Enterprise edition. During the
install I receive the following message

Configurations for an Application Server
IIS could not be installed on this server.
To install IIS, try running the Configure Your Server Wizard again, or use
Add or Remove Programs.

We have gone through both methods of trying to install IIS. Add windows
components and the configure server wizzard.
Any one have any ideas?

What error is identified in %windir%\IIS6.log as causing the
installation failure.

I see a lot of stuff in that log but when I search for error I find

'C:\WINDOWS\system32\inetsrv\certobj.dll'. The file exists but there is most
likely a missing dependency .DLL which it links to
0x80029c4a=Error loading type library/DLL.

I also see this message in my event viewer. It is not an error just
information

File replacement was attempted on the protected system file
c:\windows\system32\inetsrv\svcext.dll. This file was restored to the
original version to maintain system stability. The file version of the bad
file is 6.0.3790.1830, the version of the system file is 6.0.3790.1830.

When I disabled WFP temporarily by setting the SFCDisable key’s value to 1,
it didn’t make any difference in the IIS installation’s outcome; also, I
noticed that the Windows File Protection events still appeared in Event
Viewer, so I rebooted the box and tried again. It didn’t help; the IIS
installation still failed, but the WFP events did not appear in the event
log. Oddly, turning WFP back on (and rebooting) did not cause the WFP events
to begin reappearing in the event log.
