little script information

Can someone point to me being a newbie how can i do a little script in
awk or bash
or perl
I got a file named rugarli.pdf,i want that when i digit that
name,rugarli from the console i can open it in acrobat reader and if i
do not scroll the pages after 3 min it will close that application
