Yes.

I installed VS2008 this morning on a spare machine which, I'd forgotten,
has VS2005 on it. I was a bit surprised to see no difference between the
two until I realised I had started VS2005 (habit).

They seem to run fine alongside each other, Delphi is on the machine as
well.

Two thumbs up. Doing it right now.

There is really no need to, as you can compile to 2.0 in 2008, but I am the
cautious type.

You can but the problem might arise when you are working in a team and not
everybody has a 2008 - then you'll need two solution files or stick with
2005.
