Wanted: Java / Ajax / php script automatic refresh browser and

Hello,

I'm looking for advise or/and programmer to create a tool / script
based on Internet browser ( IE , Firefox and etc ) to automatically
refresh the browser ( every 5 sec or so ) and capture new postings
with notification sound and maybe pop-up window. Also with ability to
open multiple tabs or windows.
I'm talking about a website with username and password that has a
search engine and companies are posting loads constantly, but the
search engine doesn't provide any automatic search options, so
basically I need to refresh manually in order to see new posted loads.
So, I'm looking for someone who can help me create a tool that can do
it automatically.

Unless you are planning to run PHP locally just for yourself: nothing PHP
can do, ask in comp.lang.javascript (and do examine/try one of the
numerous ajax/javascript/XMLHttpRequest examples on the internet yourself).

And yes, you could create a java applet that does this, as long as
visitors enable it, one ot the java groups seems more appropriate it you
choose that route.
