ISO/PAS 22399
am 23.11.2007 17:57:04 von bs25999Three days ago I posted a message announcing the release the the new
standards for business continuity management, BS25999-2. Incredibly,
today, another continuity/security releated standard has been
published, this time by ISO (ref: http://www.22399.info).
ISO/PAS 22399 offers guidance to organizations to develop criteria for
incident preparedness and operational continuity. It was developed by
the ISO technical committee ISO/TC 223, Societal security.
According to ISO it provides "a basis for understanding, developing,
and implementing continuity of operations and services within an
organization and to provide confidence in business, community,
customer, first responder, and organizational interactions. It also
enables the organization to measure its resilience in a consistent and
recognized manner"
As such, it seems less focused upon planning and management than
BS25999. However, how it aligns with this standard and others is not
clear. Perhaps this is something which may emerge in due course.
