Restore SSL Certificate from Tape
am 26.11.2007 19:49:03 von Rob
Hi,
I've had a 2003 server go down and I tried to restore my NTbackup tape and
that didn't work.
The new server had exactly the same problem as the old server. (Kept
rebooting at acpitable.dat)
Anyway, I've rebuilt the machine with a fresh install of windows 2003 server
and restored the data from the tape. (funny out a system restore didn't
work!)
What I need to do is restore a SSL certificate that is stored on the tape!
It was issued from verisign.
I do have my certificate request file and the response text file.
How do I plum them into the new server or do I have to buy a new one?
TIA
Rob

The response typically does not include the private key does it? THat's in
the certificate request? You need to somehow import the certificate request
into the pending certificate requests store.
Cheers
