Creating Adobe PDF Directories From Access Merge?

Adobe has WAY to many forums and I wasn't sure which was correct so
thought I'd try here first. I'm trying to see if there is a product
that will allow us to create a large (1,100 pg) directory, similar to
creating one with MS Word. We have Access tables and want to create a
healthcare provider directory. Table has ~30,000 records. We'd also
want to create a master index and TOC.

We want to set this up so each time we update the tables, we can
generate the new directory and eventually output to PDF to send to
printer. Is there an Adobe product (or other I guess) that anyone is
aware of that might do this?

Well the only part that's relevant in your question to MS access, is can you
build a report that generates the data that's the way that you want?

If you can generate this report, then you're simply home free, as there is a
zillion free PDF creators on the market that will take that report and
convert the output into a PDF for you.

The problem of creating the actual pdf files is absolutely insignificant at
this point in time, the only issue that remains is can you build a correct
report(s) in the format that you wish to have for your output.

If you have a system set up to create these reports that looks exactly the
way you want now, then you're essentially done!

And, if you don't even want to write ANY extra code, then simply use a free
pdf "printer" system that allows you to create a pdf from any applcation you
Installed on your computer.

My objection to CutePDF was that you could not programmatically set the
output destination. Perhaps that has changed.

I should clarify a bit. I'm not looking to create the report in
Access. We have Adobe Pro here so yes, Adobe can always be created.
But the reports we are discussing are too dynamic and too much going
on to use Access Reports. So I'm looking for report (directory)
writing software, such as reason someone would use Crystal, etc. I've
seen a few 3rd party report writing tools (obviously Crystal) but
nothing specifically related to outputting directories aside from
4Tops, but I'm not sure that is Enterprise level enough.
