Good morning.

SQL Server Architect Analyst
BALTIMORE, MD - Local candidates preferred
Project Name: SQL Server 2008 Feasibility and SQL Server 2005
Encryption Standards
Desired Start Date: ASAP
Estimated Assignment Length: 3 months with follow on likely

Location is important that the resource work primarily in Baltimore,
Maryland but must be willing to travel to the Meadowlands Office when
needed. Travel expectations will not exceed 30% of time.


Day-to-day responsibilities of the position:
* Conduct research.
* Evaluate vendor literature.
* Attend conference calls, in-person meetings, and working sessions.
* Work with representatives from operations (GOS), application
development (CS&A, CBS App Services), and Information Security to
develop and define strategies and best practices for SQL Server future
use.
* Draft position papers regarding strategies and best practices for
SQL Server future use.
* Draft presentations regarding strategies and best practices for SQL
Server future use.
* Present findings to Office of the CTO (OCTO) Enterprise Architecture
group.
* Represent OCTO Enterprise Architecture group as necessary in
meetings.


This person would prepare white papers and best practices for adopting
new SQL Server technologies and features. They will also likely
prepare presentation materials for briefings to IT executives,
managers, architects, and senior developers.


Required Skills -Must be very strong in the following::
* SQL Server 2005 Encryption and Key Management
* SQL Server 2005 Development (CLR Integration, Data Access
Architecture)
* SQL Server 2005 Business Intelligence Features (Integration
Services, Reporting Services, Analysis Services)
* MS SQL Server 2005 Architecture (Partitioning, Mirroring, Service
Broker, Monitoring, Surface Area Configuration, Clustering, etc.)
* Excellent Communication Skills and client facing skills required for
this role


Desirable Skills:
* Advance Knowledge of SQL Server 2008 Architecture and Features -
Moderate


Desired
* .NET Programming and Data Access - Strong Desired
* Java Programming and Data Access - Moderate Desired


Desired Educational or Professional background:
* B.S. in Computer Science or equivalent professional experience
required
* Microsoft SQL Server certifications desirable


Other Comments:
This position will require travel up to 30% of time. Travel will
likely be to Atlanta, GA, Cleveland, OH, and/or Lyndhurst/Secaucus,
NJ.
