Leopard Server & Filemaker 8 Server

An emailed reply from Filemaker about Filemaker Server 8 compatibility
with Leopard Server was met with a stoney reply that they don't test
backwards. Yet FM Server 9 has compatibiity issues with Leopard Server.
Any real world experience?
