Hi there,
I'm wondering if anyone here has interfaced filemaker with a cash register,
can anyone recommend a point of sale machine that works well?
Cheers,
Lewis

I'm not sure what you mean by "interface with a cash register". If you
simply mean opening a cash drawer, then any computer running FileMaker
can of course act as a "Point of Sale" terminal without much problem.
Usually you would need a plug-in that allows you to specify printers so
that you can print the reciept on a printer and then "print" a command
to another port which opens the cash drawer.

Unfortunately I don't know any particular makes / models that work
better than others in this type of set-up. It no doubt costs quite a
bit of money, so you might be btter off with a simple drawer you open
manually.

With even more money you can also add a barcode scanner for processing
the customer purchases. Plus, you can connect a few terminals to a
network with a central server and do stock control as well.
