9.0v3 "build 300" -- where is that?

9.0v3 "build 300" -- where is that?

am 06.12.2007 16:15:18 von Steve Maser

Hi all...

I installed the 9.0v3 update from FileMaker yesterday (on a Mac).

This a.m., running the program, the auto-update check indicates I
have "9.0v3 build 1" installed and "9.0v3 build 300" is available.

The .dmg file on the filemaker support site still downloads the same
version as yesterday -- dated Nov 27.

Anybody else seeing this?

- Steve

I saw it once, but now when I check Help > Downloads and Updates it
says that I have the most recent version.

This was a bug in the updating mechanism on Mac only. FileMaker reports
that it has now been fixed. For your purposes here, there is no
difference between build 1 and build 300.

Cool. But is the build on the website still "build 1"? I don't see
how you'd necessarily tell that...

The version downloaded is flagged as version 300 -- at least the Windows
FMP Advanced version. I just did a 'properties' view of the updated app
file to get that.

In all likelihood, 300 is the internal build number and 1 is the release
version of the v3 updater. Just a programming error where one component
of the update notification is looking for 1 and another component is
looking for 300. Reality is that they are referring to exactly the same
version.
