Per your request to submit applications that connect to MySQL via direct to
ODBC on this URL (
http://dev.mysql.com/doc/refman/5.0/en/myodbc-examples-tools .html), I have
used one of two tools from Pervasive DataTools that connect to MySQL via the
ODBC 3.5 driver.
The products are:
Data UpLoader to MySQL (ODBC 3.5) - reads from many data sources and writes
the data TO MySQL.
Data DownLoader from MySQL (ODBC 3.5) - reads data FROM MySQL and writes the
data to many targets.
They can be obtained at this web site:
http://pervasivedatatools.com/datatools
Both of the MySQL data tools are available at no charge for a limited time.
After they start charging for them, licenses can be purchased on a monthly
subscription basis and priced very reasonably.
